If you aren't familiar with sedation dentistry and are wondering if it’s right for you, we would be happy to discuss your options in a free sedation dentistry consult.

Our dental offices offer all three types of sedation, and we’re proud to be some of the few dental practices in the Phoenix area to do so.

We have laughing gas, oral sedation, and IV sedation available.

Which would be the best for you? In general, we recommend using the mildest level of sedation that’s necessary. But what constitutes necessary? Well, that depends on the dental treatment or procedure that’s being performed, your preferences, your level of dental anxiety, your dental and medical history, and other concerns.

In the sedation consult, we can go over the advantages and costs of each sedation option, answer any questions you may have, and help you arrive at a decision that’s best for you.

Laughing gas, also known as nitrous oxide is the mildest form of sedation. And because we administer it, as a gas, through a nosepiece, when we turn it off and switch over to oxygen, it clears your system quickly. As a result, in most cases, you’ll be able to drive yourself home after your appointment.

The effects of oral sedation (which is administered through a pill) and IV sedation (which is administered through an IV attached to your arm) can linger for hours, so with both of these types of sedation, you’ll need to have someone drive you home after your appointment.
